How many quarts of atf in 727 transmission
How many quarts of NS-2 does a single drain/fill consume, and how much is left in the transmission when doing so (so I can calculate how many drain/fills I need to do). Any other hardware required? Crush washers, etc? I promise I tried looking this up on assorted Nissan forums, but got nowhere. Thanks!
Keep your eye on the bucket and be sure you do not pump out too much fluid. Any more than 3L and you risk pumping the transmission dry. Repeat this step once more at which point you should have added and drained ~6 liters of ATF. By the time you have run six liters through your transmission,... Yes, you'll want to use ATF+IV, it's the replacement to Chrysler's ATF+III that was used for many years. Suggest starting off with 4 quarts of ATF after you drop the pan and replace fluid and filter, then run engine to operating temp, shift slowly into each gear then back to park, then check fluid and top off.
My '93 FZJ80 needs a transmission fluid change. However, I'm not doing a complete system flush just draining the pan. I see the system capacity is 12.6 qt but I know I cannot add that much since I never drained the system. So, how much do I add to start ? I should have measured what I took... Place a container underneath the plug (make sure it can hold 6 quarts of fluid). Replace the fluid with Dexron VI or equivalent ATF (please note of any metal fragments in the transmission fluid as this will indicate the level of wear). Fill to 75% capacity to account for any fluid left in the transmission. Jack it up and get it as close to the block as you can and one side or top will probably be closer to the block than another so start a bolt there and SLOWLY pull it toward the block with the other bolts. I think my 727 completely empty took about 9 quarts to fill including the one in the convertor.

The M-11 holds 11 quarts (22 pints) total, fully drained (including torque converter). It needs about 5 quarts if just changing the fluid and cleaning the screen (it uses a fine stainless steel mesh screen, not a replaceable filter, clean in solvent and reuse).
